Alrighty, Round 1's finally over. I'll present the results first, then the scoring. Links are provided to ROMs that are not already on the TSC forums somewhere.
Challenge 1: Sonic 1 MegaMix - TA run of Starry Night 1-3 with any character.
Target - 4:00:00 RPG - 3:03:76
Groudon - 3:49:93
Challenge 2:
Tohaka v0.21 - TA run of Chemical Plant 1 (note: level select is still 19 65 09 17). Finding an emerald on the course was good for 10 seconds off of your final time.

genus - 1:19
Challenge 3:
Project Shadow 2 - With level select (10 10 10 10) active, TA run of Midnight Hill 1-2, followed by pausing and pressing A after act 2, then returning to the level select and a TA run of Bonus 1 (Casino Night 1).
Target - 4:30 JB - 5:18
Achlys - 3:50

Target - 1:20 PPA - 1:14

Competitors were awarded two points for meeting the target (notice yse's doing this with his new tourney now? :P )and an additional two for beating his/her rival. Therefore...
Scoreboard after R1RPG - 4
Rick - 4
Achlys - 4
Spinny - 4
Groudon - 2
PPA - 2
genus - 2
JB - 0
Also, a few ambitious folk have started on Round 2. A pair has already finished a challenge. Conveniently, the pair that did this challenge was comprised of the two who most enjoyed the game, sparing the rest of you some torture.
Challenge 3: Chaotix *groan* - Scavenger hunt to open as many Grow boxes as possible within two acts. Due to the unfamiliarity of the game, I suggested some (but not the only) good levels beforehand - Techno Tower 2, Introduction, Isolated Island 4.
Target - 4 RPG - 3
Achlys - 4
For those of you who bombed Round 1, never fear! I kept the challenges under wraps for a reason.
You can earn one point in a round by meeting the target in another challenge from the round AFTER you have submitted for your own challenge, regardless of the amount of time it takes you. If you didn't meet the target on your own challenge, you can redo it for one additional point, and you are permitted to perform challenges from previous rounds that you have not done as well. Granted, I can't stop you from doing other challenges before you do your assigned one, but I won't grade it until you do, and a round is over the instant the final submission for an assigned challenge is in. Therefore, the sooner you finish your own challenge, the more chances for points you have before the elimination... the first of which being after Round 2, when I will toss the bottom two from the tournament, possibly with an epic tiebreaker if people are on the bottom tier together.
Now go knock yourselves out... or, the other players, whichever suits your fancy.
